Conservation Kids a Non-profit organization based in Bojanala district, in the North West province of South Africa. Our objective is Environmental Education. We achieve this by doing environmental awareness at schools in the region especially to those close to the parks, like Pilanesberg National Park. In the past we have raised funds and invited learners to the park for game drives and a reptile presentations. We have realized the serious disconnect between the communities and the protected areas, like communities surrounding Pilanesberg, where you would find that most of the community members have never even been inside the park, and this is caused by lack of interest caused by lack of understanding the relationship between us humans and the environment(wildlife), the role we can play and the responsibilities we have towards the protection of the environment. Natural resources are part of our heritage as Africans and it is our responsibility to ensure that they used sustainably , and we believe that this can be achieved through education. Our objective as an organization is to bring this knowledge to kids with the hope to contribute to building leaders of tomorrow that will understand the value of the environment and advocate for its protection thereof.
